All at Kirk Deighton Rangers AFC would like to send their best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to the Tingley Athletic player whose injury forced the match abandonment. Football is secondary when something like this happens, and we all hope that Tingley's player recovers without issue.
The early play belonged to Deighton, and Ross Park dropped a good pass behind the left-back that Phil Turner won a throw-in off. Threatening again, Dan Flynn swung in a curling corner, which had several players straining to get a touch on it.
Tingley started to fight back, and a deep free-kick into Deighton's area caused issues until finally cleared. The hosts came again, and a weighted pass down the right side gave their striker a sight of goal, but Mitch Moore had closed him down quickly, and he shot wide.
Ben Challenger rose highest to head Stevie Mann's curling free-kick just wide, and soon after, a foot race between Sean Dawson and Tingley's keeper ended with the gloveman scooping up the ball.
In the 14th minute, Tingley took the lead with a stunning goal. A corner made its way back to the taker, who picked out a player on the edge of the area, and he hit a fierce volley past Moore.
Six minutes later, it was all square when Park sent another ball over the defence for Turner to chase. Breaking free, he passed along the area to Jack Holliday, who curled his shot into the net.
The goal saw Deighton relax, and they started passing the ball well and forcing Tingley into making mistakes. One such move found Park free on the right, and it took a good save to divert his shot wide. However, from the resultant corner, the ball hit Holliday and flew past the surprised custodian in the 33rd minute.
Tingley came straight back at Rangers and forced two blocks, including a superb one by Jenner, who had to stretch to reach a hard shot from just inside the area.
With 36 minutes on the clock, Mann limped off the pitch to be replaced by Brad Spencer.
Deighton looked dangerous every time they came forward, and again the keeper was forced into diving low to save Dawson's shot.
If Tingley's opener was a great goal, then Ranger's third was equally as impressive. Picking up the ball on the left-wing, Flynn took a couple of steps infield and let fly with a shot that left the keeper no chance as it nicked off the crossbar and into the net in the 41st minute.

Tingley started with purpose, and a flowing move exposed Deighton on the right, however despite a good cross, the first touch let the player down, and Flynn intercepted.
The hosts soon fashioned another chance, but the touch was heavy again, and the shot sailed over the crossbar.
Deighton got hold of the game as Spencer raced onto Holliday's pass, but his shot from a narrow-angle was turned away by the keeper.
Spencer was heavily involved in the play, and his cross picked out Dawson. Flanked by two defenders, he shot first time, but it went just wide of the far post.
Moore showed that he was as agile as his counterpart when he dived to his right to pull off a good save to deny Tingley from close range after a free-kick was floated to the back post.
Dawson indicated that he couldn't continue, and Kieran Arnett took his place in the 60th minute.
The hosts were going through a spell of possession football, and a curling corner nearly found its way into the net, but thankfully for Rangers just went wide!
Winning a challenge in the centre, Arnett released Spencer, who crossed for Turner, who was only a foot away from connecting.
Putting pressure on the defender, Arnett panicked him into a weak header that the striker got to before the keeper. However, he got a little too much power on his lob, and the ball landed on top of the net.
Holliday beat his man on the left-wing and swung in a cross that Turner couldn't get out of his feet, taking over Arnett tried to shoot but skidded on the dry surface, and Tingley cleared.
The following action saw a Tingley player collide with his own teammate as he went to challenge Spencer. It soon became apparent that the player was in trouble, and with an ambulance called, the game was abandoned.
Abandoned Game Score: Tingley Ath Res 1 v 3 Kirk Deighton Ran Res
Verdict: An awful way to end a match, and we hope that the Tingley player is ok and has a speedy and uncomplicated recovery.
Up to that point, it had been a superb match, with both teams playing some great football. The effort that Deighton put into overcoming the Rothwell defeat was brilliant and just what Manager Kris Macdonald wanted.
We have to wait to see what the league say now as the game stopped after the 75-minute mark.
