Rothwell FC v Kirk Deighton Rangers Match Preview

It’s the final Pre-Season game for Dan Marshall’s side tonight as he takes his team over to Leeds to play Rothwell FC at Fleet Lane.
The game has a 6:45 pm Kick-Off time and looking at the weather forecast, it seems to be a mixed bag with light rain showers and brief sunny spells set for the evening!
The Opposition.
Rothwell finished second from bottom in our league last season, just six points from safety. They are seen as being one of the favourites to come straight back up, and having had two very difficult encounters with them last campaign, we can certainly see this happening.
So far, according to their Twitter feed, they have played four Pre-Season games, but a result can only be found for the match against Headingley, which Headingley won 4-1.
Head To Head.
Despite us winning both our games last season, our hosts certainly didn’t make it at all easy, and with several players who like to run at defences in their squad, our back line will have to be wary of the threat that they possess.
The last time that the two sides met at Fleet Lane was on the 26th Jan 2019, when goals from Will Bates and Danny Grannon secured us a 2-1 win.
Team News For Rangers.
As normal, the gaffer is keeping tight lipped about his selection, but it is known that this match will give several players the last chance to impress as Marshall looks to cement his starting eleven for the season’s opener against Featherstone Colliery on Saturday.
What About Rothwell?
It is honestly not known what team Rothwell will put out. We are sure that it will be a competitive one however as the FA system has at least thirty players registered to them.
