Last weekend’s 4-3 defeat to Oxenhope may have partially applied the brakes on our promotion charge, but we could put ourselves straight back into contention if we can gain a good result over current league leaders Hall Green United on Saturday - so no pressure then!
The match has a scheduled 2:30pm start and a look at the weather app indicates that we should expect some sunny spells and a dry afternoon!
As one would expect from a team sitting at the summit of the league, United's form has been basically spotless with only two defeats registered within the past ten league games. On home soil, they have won nine of the eleven games played, with a draw and a defeat making up the numbers. Goals wise, they have scored an impressive 36, which is the best in the division, whilst only having 9 put past them, which is second only to Aberford Albion.
The last time the two teams met was on a very wet and wild December day, and Manager Dan Marshall hailed Hall Green as the best team he had seen at Barr Field as they ran out 4-1 winners (see match report here). Our goal came from Danny Grannon.
In the middle for this game will be Mr Lee Stewart. So far, Mr Stewart has been in charge of five games and has shown nine yellow cards and one red one.
