Kirk Deighton Res v Ilkley Town Res Match Preview.

It's a mouthwatering game this Saturday as we welcome Ilkley Town Reserves to Barr Field.

The match has a 2 pm kick-off time, but please keep an eye out on this website and our Social Media channels as the poor weather looks to continue and may put this game in jeopardy.

Our Opponents.

Regarded by many as one of the stronger teams in the Alliance Division Two, it is no surprise that they have climbed into the top three. At present, they have lost just the once from seven games with this being a 2-0 defeat against East End Park.

Away from their Ben Rhydding Sports Club ground, they have completed two matches, culminating in a win and a defeat. Their goals total stands at scored once and conceded twice. They have the best defensive record throughout the division, having conceded just seven goals so far.

A look at the FA stats shows that they contain some prolific goalscorers with Declan Bradley and Lee McGowan on 15 and 14 goals respectively.

Head To Head.

The two sides have met four times since our return in 2017. At present, we are ahead in the victory column with two wins to Ilkley's one. There has also been an entertaining 3-3 draw played out last season.

The corresponding fixture last season saw us claim a 2-0 win thanks to goals by Jake Little and Brad Spencer.

Team News For Rangers.

Manager Kris Macdonald hopes to field a strong squad, but we know that there will be several absences.

The Man In The Middle.

Mr Justin Sales will be the referee for this game. Like all officials that visit our club, we hope that he will have a hassle-free time.

Our official has already taken charge of seven matches to date and can also list another two where he was Assistant Referee. In the games where he was in charge, he has sent one player to the sin-bin, cautioned three players and dismissed one.

Following The Match.

We will be open an hour before the match starts. Our clubhouse will be ready to serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks should you want one before kick-off.

If you have any spare pennies and would like to donate them, we will have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound from these boxes as well.

We are also available to accept any donations that you would like to make to the Wetherby and District Foodbank. Please see any of the club officials who will take your donation.

To end, we will be presenting our Bar Three Man Of The Match award to the winning Kirk Deighton Rangers player. Please stay and give the lucky recipient your congratulations.
