In what was a very entertaining match last week, Rangers will be hoping to continue that kind of form when we welcome Oxenhope Recreation to Barr Field this Saturday.
The match has a 2:30 pm kick-off time and is very kindly sponsored by S.D. Newband (Painter & Decorator). The weather forecast (at the moment!) shows that it should be a very hot and sunny day with temperatures reaching 21-22 degrees.
Oxenhope haven’t had the best of starts to this campaign suffering seven defeats from seven games. However, they are a team that will, without doubt, bounce back and start picking up points.
Goals wise, Oxenhope have scored in each of the league games and have an average of 1.6 goals per match. They have, however, conceded almost triple this with an average of 4.8 goals per match.
Head To Head.
Going through the database, it seems that the two clubs met for the first-time last season. At the moment it stands at one win apiece, so not a lot can be really be inferred from this.
The last time that the two teams met, a late surge from Rangers wasn’t enough and Oxenhope took all three points back with them following a 4-3 win. Our goals that day came from Josh Buckley, Josh Barden and Charlie Yates.
Team News For Rangers.
For once, the tide seems to be turning in our favour regarding injuries. Manager Dan Marshall will be casting his eye over several returning players, although he will be without Captain Joe Wilks and Ash Tatler who are serving the final and first game of their suspensions respectively.
The Man In The Middle.
Taking control of his fourth game of the season will be Mr Alex McGeorge. In his other trio of outings, he has shown 10 yellow cards and a single red card.
Following The Match.
Our Media team should be at this game, so if you cannot make it, log onto our Twitter feed if you can and keep up-to-date with regular updates on the score and action.
As normal for a 2:30 pm kick-off, the gates should be open an hour before for the general public and our club house will be ready to serve you a great range of drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), so please come in and say hello and enjoy yourself before the match starts. We will be featuring our match day special drink, which you can purchase at a great price.
Also, if you have any spare pennies and would like to donate them to a great cause, we will also have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound (or two!) from these boxes as well.
We are pleased to announce that tomorrow’s match will be sponsored by S.D Newband (Painter & Decorator). All at the club would like to thank Stuart for his kindness in sponsoring this match.
To end the afternoon, we will be presenting our Kirk Deighton Rangers B&F Electrical Distributors Man Of The Match award to the wining player, so please stay and give the lucky recipient your congratulations.
Please remember to allow yourself extra travel time to the game due to the multiple road closures for the bike race.
