Rangers Reserves return back to home soil when they welcome Rothwell to Barr Field tomorrow for this West Yorkshire Alliance League Two match.
The game has a 2:30 pm kick-off time, and the weather looks to be pretty decent for this one, with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze forecast.
As we arrive at this match, Rothwell sit two places and two behind us in 7th place. On their travels, they have found wins easy to come by, beating three of the four sides that they have played (Sherburn White Rose Reserves being the exception)
Goals wise, they have scored 16 away from home (averaging 4.0 goals per game) whilst they have conceded 10 (averaging 2.5 goals per game).
A win could see us jump into second place, whilst a defeat could see us drop as far as eighth, so the pressure is on the team to maintain their great league form.
Head To Head.
Meetings between the two teams are sparse, with the sides locking horns for the first-time last season. With these two encounters, we have won and drawn one, with this corresponding fixture last time around ending in a 3-3 draw (goals were scored by Jake Little, Vito D’Avanzo and Phil Turner).
Team News For Rangers.
Manager Kris Macdonald will be hoping to have several players back who weren’t available for the penalty shoot-out defeat against Hampsthwaite United last Saturday. There are no suspensions for either sides to worry about, but as we know, Rangers will be without long term injury Jack Abbott.
Man In The Middle.
The referee for this game will be Mr Colin Maltby. This will be Mr Maltby’s first game in charge this season, although he was an assistant referee for the Premier League clash between Boroughbridge and Headingley last weekend.
As with all the officials and visiting teams & fans, we wish Mr Maltby a pleasant and hassle-free time whilst he is at Barr Field.
Following The Match.
Our Media team should be present at this game, so if you can’t attend, but would like to keep up-to-date with the action and score, then log onto our Twitter feed.
As normal for a 2:30 pm kick-off, the gates should be open an hour before for the general public and our club house will be ready to serve you a great range of drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), so please come in and say hello and enjoy yourself before the match starts. We will be featuring our match day special drink, which you can purchase at a great price.
Also, if you have any spare pennies and would like to donate them to a great cause, we will also have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound (or two!) from these boxes as well.
To end the afternoon, we will be presenting our Kirk Deighton Rangers Bar Three Man Of The Match award to the wining player, so please stay and give the lucky recipient your congratulations.
