Our Reserves will be looking to continue their recent vein of good form when they welcome Old Centralians Reserves to Barr field on Saturday afternoon.
With a 2 pm kick-off, the match looks like it will be played in sunshine and light cloud.
It’s no secret that Old Centralians are struggling this season currently lying second from bottom in the league. However, we won’t be taking them lightly as they are more than capable of making us pay should we not produce a high standard performance. A fact we nearly found out to our cost when it required penalties to advance past them in a recent West Yorkshire League Trophy match!
At present, they have seven points from a total of 33, which has been mostly achieved at home. They are waiting for their first win on the road, and we will need to be at our best to make sure it doesn’t come at our expense.
Centralians have been a little shy in front of goal, scoring six at present (avg. 1.0 goal per away game). At the other end, they have conceded 34 (avg. 5.7 goals per away game).
A look at the FA stats for the Division shows that Arron Kouakou leads their scoring chart with four goals at present. Close behind him is Farayi Guzha and Chris Ward with three each.
Head To Head.
This will be the sixth meeting of the two teams following our return to the Alliance Divisions. At present, we hold the advantage with four wins to Centralians none. There has also been a 2-2 draw as well.
Team News For Rangers.
Manager Kris Macdonald will look to keep faith with the majority of the side that beat Tingley Athletic 4-2 last weekend. However, he may tinker due to injuries and also absences. One change could see Phil Turner named in the starting eleven for the first time since returning from a broken ankle, although having come off the bench in consecutive weeks and scored, maybe the gaffer won’t change what appears to be a successful formula!
The Man In The Middle.
Mr Ayaz Ahmed is the referee for this match. This will be his first match in charge this season with his previous game postponed due to heavy rainfall.
As with any official, opposition team and fans who visit us, we hope that Mr Ahmed has a pleasant and hassle-free time whilst with us.
Following The Match.
We will be open an hour before the match starts. Our clubhouse will be ready to serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks should you want one before kick-off.
If you have any spare change that you would like to donate, we will have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound from these boxes as well.
We are also available to accept any donations that you would like to make to the Wetherby and District Foodbank. Please see any of the club officials who will take your generous donation.
To end, we will be presenting our Bar Three Man Of The Match award to the winning Kirk Deighton Rangers player. Please stay and give the lucky recipient your congratulations.
