The Allotment End
The Clubhouse End
Barr Field has been home to our club since its conception in 1949. Over the years it has undergone plenty of transformations with the dressing rooms being built in 1972 and the current clubhouse being added in the 1980's. The pitch has also been moved, with the current one 90 degrees to how it was to allow for the current railings to be installed around the pitch.
The Barr Field pitch rotated 90 degrees with a junior pitch just behind it and the allotments at the back of the photo. From left to right: Dan Marshall (no 7), Mark Jackson, Malcolm Oliver and Kris Macdonald. The referee was Mick Campbell, who was current First Team Assistant Manager David Campbell's father and also known as Mr KDR.
An interesting fact is that even though we are playing at home, we are wearing our away kit! Photo supplied by Kris Macdonald.
Below shows the nearside touchline of our pitch with the dugouts that were constructed in the 1990's and recently updated by Acquscapes and Landscaping Ltd. we are also very fortunate that the same company look after our pitch to a fantastic standard.
To comply with current legislation, Barr Field is a no smoking environment. If you want to have a cigarette/pipe or use a vape, then we ask if you could step out of the ground to do this.
All games at Barr Field in the West Yorkshire Leagues and Harrogate & District League are free to watch.
Wheelchair access is possible into the ground and pitch-side as the ground is flat from the car park, however there is a step up to the clubhouse.
There is no seating at Barr Field at present, so please feel free to bring and use your own fold up chair.
There is no segregation at the ground and spectators are free to walk around the pitch as the game progresses. We ask that all spectators and visitors to Barr Field are civil to one another when moving around the pitch.
As with any other sports ground, we ask that only authorised personnel walk on the pitch or inside the respect barriers.
Parking At Barr Field
We have plenty of spaces for parking at the ground and can easily accommodate 35 cars/small vans.
There is also parking available on the street outside the ground, but please be aware that this is a main road and can have heavy vehicles travelling along it.
Please note - there is NO parking at the Kirk Deighton Village Hall which is located next to the ground.
The Clubhouse and Dressing Rooms
As the club expanded, the need for new facilities grew and in 1972, the changing rooms were built. These were upgraded in the early 1980's when the current clubhouse (the bigger of the two structures shown above) was constructed.
Like anything else, the decor and amenities have been updated and added to over the years, with the latest additions being improvements to the dressings rooms for both the home/away and referees to allow us access into the West Yorkshire League.
Our clubhouse often receives favourable comments from opposition teams, and those that use it for private functions (please contact our Chairman, Dan Jones, by clicking here for more information on this).
With up-to-date licenses and safety/hygiene certificates, our clubhouse serves a superb variety of beverages (both alcoholic and soft drinks) on matchdays, and we have started to serve a wider range of crisps and bagged sweets as well as we look to make both Barr Field and Kirk Deighton Rangers a more family orientated club.
The bar in our clubhouse - modest, but serves a great variety of beverages at a very affordable price!
Both male and female toilets can be found in the clubhouse, which is open throughout the match.
